Loch Sport Community Forum
Loch Sport Community House is based in the semi remote seaside township of Loch Sport, with the beautiful Gippsland Lakes on one side and Ninety mile beach on the other.
Loch Sport is supported with its own fire station, and Ambulance services that is well supported by all, and offer excellent service.
Visitors to Loch Sport have a good variety of accommodation, including a large caravan park. The nearest city centre is Sale some 65 kms, and public transport is limited. Loch Sport is a unique township and home to an abundance of wildlife that is enjoyed by its residents, and visitors alike.
Loch Sport has a diverse cultural population; many have retired here looking for the quiet life, and are now enjoying the recreational activities such as boating, with the use of an excellent marina, and the ninety mile beach that offers great fishing.
Where the sun comes up over water it also goes down over water, unique to Loch Sport.
Loch Sport Community House Inc was established on 17th December 1996 and is managed
by a volunteer Committee of Management comprising volunteers and house participants
who have the best interests of the Neighbourhood House and the community at heart.
We provide services to the local and surrounding communities that include:
Community support through drop-in and self help;
Information and referral services comprising brochures and/or direct information
and referral services; Internet use;
Adult education programs including:
- Information/Technology interests - basic and intermediate computer skills, mobile phone sessions;
- Recreational interests – dancing, line dancing and
- Health and social interests – book club, meditation,
community kitchen, singing group;
- Craft activity interests - knitting, sewing, embroidery, sculpting and art.
Support to other local businesses and agencies in partnership
for specialized programs developed to suit their needs such
as Fulham TAFE – Work for the Dole program
